There comes a moment when the struggle is finally over.
His Work Is Done captures that moment of release—the instant when the weight of the battle is no longer yours to carry. An angel rises from the darkness with wings fully open, arms extended and palms facing forward, surrendering not in defeat, but in complete acceptance.
His head is turned toward the light. The chaos remains below him, but it no longer holds him.
Created with white pastel, charcoal, and a palette knife on black paper, this piece was built through layers of foundation, carving, blending, and erasure. The figure emerged gradually from the darkness, surrounded by jagged forms that suggest the broken landscape he is leaving behind.
For me, this work represents salvation, redemption, and the freedom that comes when the purpose of a difficult journey has finally been fulfilled.
His work is done.
The battle is over.
He is going home.
